Rick Kravitz
Rick got involved with the Hunting & Fishing Days Committee in 2005 after taking a Hunter's Safety class with his daughter Katie. Their Master Instructor was George Harvestine. After the class, George talked about the festival and asked if anyone would be interested in helping out. Rick volunteered and he and his daughter Katie have been there ever since. The first year Rick did whatever was needed and still does. He also brings his house trailer and acts as our night watchman.
Rick has about 15 years experience in running festivals. He started in 1978 as an Assistant Fest Manager for The Howard W. Carroll Foundation Taste of The 50th. In 1981 he became the Festival Manager and ran it until 1992. He also ran the Around the World Festival on Devon Avenue for 2 years. He worked for Chicago Celebrations in 1985 bringing festivals to Chicago.
Rick is also been a avid hunter (mostly pheasant & deer) since about 1974. He looks forward to going to southern Illinois every Deer season.
